Assessment of the Effectiveness of SAMS in Teaching Materials Science
The effectiveness of the first efforts to integrate spreadsheets into the materials science curriculum was evaluated by surveying the students at the beginning and end of the quarter. The teaching assistants who actually worked side-by-side with the students were also surveyed. A couple of community colleges in the area have used one or more of these modules and their comments have helped guide further development of this project. The results of these surveys and instructor comments are offered here so that you can see how things have turned out so far.
